The Cavern, Exeter is a great venue for 'up and coming' touring bands.

Not a place I would bother to showcase CRUSH UK, but a cool dive.

I was told by the box office that Jamie T tickets were sold out! - Turns out this info was bollox.

So I got on to our mate Ben who just happens to be the drummer in Jamie T's band which was handy.

Ben fixed it for me, Bing and Sam to get in on the guest list.

The support band were tidy but passed us by largely due to getting a beer and chatting with Ben at the bar.

Jamie kicked off with just him and a bass guitar which he played a bit like a lead guitar - interesting!

The band was solid and rocked da house with their brand of new wave/kick ass noise.

JT appeared slightly shocked at the positive audience reaction, but soon settled down and looked like he was lovin' it.

To make an old bloke's analogy, they sounded a little bit Arctic Monkeys, a little Kaiser Chiefs with some Robbie and Joe Strummer thrown in.

In my 'umble opinion high accolades indeed.

Being a JT newby I was impressed with the songs. Each one held up and judging by the reaction of the 'sold out' crowd, the singles that have charted recently in particular were favourites.

Hot, sweaty and not too loud (take note BobKatZ) it was an ideal gig for a bourgeoning talent.

Our thanks to Ben for the invite and the red stripe.

Jamie T if he can keep it together will be back and next time the Cavern won't be big enough!
