YOU ARE KIDDING ME, RIGHT????
I tell you, I'm so close to handing in my FoF membership! The ONLY thing that keeps me there is the incredible people I've met in that group. It has been said before but George has some of the most wonderful fans. I just can't understand why he treats them with such utter contempt. And it's no isolated incident. He has hurt nearly every person in the Family of Friends who is a particular friend of mine. The list is just getting longer and longer. And every time I convince myself that I'm being unreasonable, I hear another story of neglect or outright rudeness. I believed his publicity for years - genuine nice guy - he's nothing like it. I'm really sorry for your disappointment. But hey, you got to meet Uncle Ringo, right? If George has genuine paranoia or severe shyness he should take some of the gazillion dollars we've all sent his way over the years and get a good therapist. I'm incredibly shy, so I really know what it's like, but you've just got to try, and it's not like the Family of Friends is going to drink his blood. What does he think they're going to do - hug him to death?
He's a wonderful musician and a real showman, but his greatest talent is for attracting people to himself who are incredibly devoted. That rids him of any fear of losing his band or his fans - no matter how badly he treats them. We should all start walking and tell him why.
I'm sorry I didn't respond to your post below about Leslie (from SC). I'd already heard the story but I didn't know who the victim was, I've just realised I didn't answer you. Leslie is a wonderful person. My goodness, the Queen would hug Leslie - she's so loveable.
