No! "Powercut Song" was done with tenor uke (low G string tuning as opposed to re-entrant high G tuning as per treble uke), vocals and Mr Jones doing an all round accompniment on his sythesizer set to produce a synthetic piano/ Hammond organ FX or perhaps a Rhodes sound.
I think on the "original" you played real hi-hat and kick round at 163 utilizing Dymore's kit. The tune that featured wet sponge, soldering iron and gently tapped woofer was "Julie's Song". This would have all been the same weekend of course. The original original of "Powercut Song" was recorded at Clare Close with no percussion at all; just you on vocals and treble uke, me on Jedson bass and you on double tracked hence phazed reed organ.
Last year I re-recorded "Julie's Song" on my Tascam 2488 mk II and finished it off at Gil's place in Bath, transfering the files from the Tascam to his set up and editing with Cool Edit (or wotteffah).
