Rhayden, you have to be a really bad gardener to kill mint as it will survive anything. When you want to pick some, maybe make some mint sauce etc. cut the stem down to the bottom and that's it, the rest will keep going. Maybe after summer trim it back to about half its size and new growth will appear for next year. It loves to be cut back as it usually grows by runners. Good Luck. Maureen
