Dear Maureen,
The rose sounds a nice idea...there are so many beautiful roses around
now - maybe you could get all those daughters and sons in law around
on a working bee to dis-ruly your garden (soon time to prune) and
plant the new one in your husbands memory. I'm sure yesterday was
very difficult: all you can do is remember the good times. From the
photo on TV, I'm sure there were many. He looked like he had a good
sense of humour..then most Italians I have met do!
Thought you'd be amused to know your four girls have taken over the
tennis court flock: they have everyone else firmly in their place. First to
the food and the scraps, telling off the other chooks. Have moved into
the big night shed, displacing others (have had to build another shed),
and they even tell the rooster what to do. They are laying well, which is
great as I have a stomach problem and I eat at least a couple of eggs a
day...
Thinking of you all,
Sybil
PS I am sorry the last email I sent you was on the day of the funeral - i
didn't know.
