I have to declare my history here. I was married for almost 10 years. I have
been divorced for over 14 years and have never formed another long term
relationship. In my early dating days (post-divorce) I went out with a few
guys. My kids were in their young teens (12-14yrs). I noticed the guys I was
dating were looking for a mother. Since I already had children I decided not
to raise these "alleged" men. I know this sounds cold but it was my
experience.
So, having so declared my bias, I say, "Don't settle" for less than you deserve.
