Hi Careasa,

Welcome to the board. I am so glad TR sent you here - it really is a warm and loving place that is always free to share your thoughts and feelings, rant away the hurts, and just be yourself, without pretense.

Maybe not a flurry of activity as we were 5 years ago, but believe me, this is a strong group and has many caring and loving people on it. I can give you a quick background - this production company had this board site up right after "The War Zone" was released. Many people found themselves drawn to the film, drawn to the board as they were enlightened or victims themselves. Many friendships were firmly bonded here, and we were a family - we still are. Then about a couple years ago, the site disappeared, out of the blue!

Thankfully each of us knew other's email addresses, and we knew how to get a hold of TR to let him know we weren't letting our board go away. We made up a new one, and we are staying put!

So thats a little history. I want to thank you for sharing yourself on here, and I'm sorry I did not respond to you sooner. You are so right that some things you tell certain people, they don't look or treat you the same way ever again. Why can't we be honest, with others, and especially with ourselves? And you ask if theres any way you can forget it all? From my experience, no, not entirely, but you can CHOOSE to put it out of your emotional thoughts. I know, easier said than done. I was mildly molested by my older brother, a couple of times. A very painful and shameful memory to think of, when it entered my head. After talking it out here, I was able to let go of the emotional part of it and then tell my family, who had no clue. I think expressing your thoughts, getting stuff out of your head is one way of healing and moving on.

It is scary to just place your thoughts out on the wide world web, and I'm glad you found the courage and glad Tim helped. He is an awesome and inspiring man. He brought us together, to help us heal each other the best we can.

Please know you are safe here, and there are great people on this board who care. Hoping things are looking better for you sweetie, and that the coming school year is awesome for you!

(I'm at work right now, so I better get back on it - no time to read this back, so please excuse any grammatical errors!)

Hugs to you, take care,

Carol
