Anyway, the nutshell of the news story was about how insurance companies in some states are classifying domestic violence is a "pre-existing" condition and basically denying women medical coverage because of it. The story went on to interview a lady who was denied insurance because she was in therapy and taking anti-HIV medication (as a precaution) because she'd been raped.
Anyway, I had NO idea this was happening!! And it really stunned me...I'm the first to admit that the Canadian health care system needs to be fixed, but at least if needed we can get basic medial care.
