Thanks everyone, very helpful advice, I will try everything.

I wish digital was more sympathetic to infinity focus and hyperfocal focussing but there we are. I'm feeling my age at the moment, and I'm going to find it a chore taking a thick instruction manual with me just to work out how to turn the flash off or something! Never happened with the FM2 or K1000.

Hello Lance, I'm definitely thinking like you about reusing Nikon lenses on Canon using an adaptor. Canon don't seem so hot on fast wides, and I've got some stunning Nikkors that I don't want to get rid of. Unlike lenses which are for keeps, to me digital cameras are more like PCs than film cameras, they are relatively disposable/short lived because they are outclassed by new models so fast. Also I am suspicious how long the sensors will last without losing sensivity/pixel equality. Time will tell.

I like the idea of the million candle power torch! I've wanted one for a long time but couldn't think of a reason for getting one till now.
