I've been experimenting with digital photography and have come up against the expected noise issue. I'm using a Canon 400D with exposures ranging from 15 seconds to 10 minutes.

At the moment I am using the in-camera noise reduction mode, which effectively doubles the time each exposure takes. I am wondering if I am wasting time doing this, or whether noise reduction at the computer would do as good a job.

I would be grateful for any advice - how to you guys deal with noise in night photos?
