I was just referred to this site. I've been taking night photos for about the last five years, mostly scenes of small towns in the Dakotas. Since last October I've been using a lighting system to take photos outdoors, mostly trains. My system is x10 Nikon SB flash, x2 B1600 monolights, x8 Skyport triggers. Enough of gear talk though. I enjoy the peace of the night, especially in winter. It was usually below zero but never colder than minus 28. I love winter. I love the stark beauty. I don't know if I fit in here at all--my subject is trains and I make my own light rather than using ambient. I am an oddball, but I suppose all who photo mostly at night are, LOL!
