Guilt. That's the other thing that propels people to religious activity. Bro. Jarratt said at General Conference that the basis of all religious activity should be Pentecost. Too often though, Sunday school teachers burn out because they have been guilted into teaching, they have worn out their sense of duty, or they feel undervalued by the church they are expending themselves to impress. And not one of those concepts is in the divine order of things, in my opinion - burn out, service out of guilt, sense of duty, laboring to impress the church, or under-appreciated teachers - none of those things please God (or superintendents).
