My husband was always told that his grandfather Murdock John Stewart came from the Isle of Skye to Prince Edward Island where he married Isabella Nicholson. We know they are both buried there on PEI. A newspaper article mentioned that John Murdock Stewart had lived in the US in Maine before the marriage. One of his sons was Lorne McKenzie Stewart who was born at Crapaud, PEI, and lived in Victoria, PEI, before moving with the family to Glace Bay, NS. After becoming a US citizen, Lorne married and had one son, Richard Donald Stewart, born in Tacoma, Washington, USA. We wish to know more about how Murdock John Stewart got to PEI and what his connection to the state of Maine was.
