It could be they're both really irked about having papparazzi right outside the frigging window while they're trying to...eat or whatever the crap they're doing. Or having a lover's quarrel which still happens even to the most enamoured of couples... or...I could do this all day because I really can't tell enough from a half dozen thumbnails. For all I know she just asked if her butt looked big in those jeans and he gave the wrong answer.
This is why I stand by the rule that I do: if he makes it public knowledge it's up for grabs, otherwise it's off the table. Just because he works in front of a camera does not mean he should live in front of one. I live by that not because I fear him showing up at my door but because this is the same old country where right of privacy is respected for the most part and he's not one of those attention-hogging celebs who splashes their lives on the page. In which case, I prefer to afford him the respect. That said, because he's so mum about his private life, we don't have enough to add up to much anyway, so I just don't see the point in bothering to try and figure out his many moods and the ins and outs of his love life.
It also keeps the flame wars at more of an ember stage by avoiding the topic altogether, so even stepping in this much is a lot for me.
Then of course, he is Irish and from Chicago, so he may be from the Mcmafia, in which case that has to be taken into consideration. Maybe there's more Martin Blank in him than we thought and he *would* show up at the door. Honestly, I think he has more on his plate than worrying about the opinions of fifty million fans who each have their own take on a picture that says a thousand words--especially when no one knows *which* words.
That said, Jodi has the same sort of exotic look that he seems to go for in women. There have been a few exceptions, but he tends toward the curvy brunettes who don't have such classic good looks so much as a uniqueness about them. Minnie Driver has that sort of strong jaw line, the mocha skin, and a saucy British accent. Neve Campbell and Jodi both have the contrast of dark hair and lighter eyes, which is kind of rare. A few other names I could toss out: Shoshanna Lonstein, Claire Forlani... all with unconventional good looks. So I wouldn't necessarily place her as a witch (being that I am one and can usually spot the type), but she did do a movie where she went criminally insane and the movie itself had a sort of paranormal bent to it, rumors of witches, femme fatale types...although she's not necessarily any more crazy than he is Lloyd Dobler.
And then again, he or she could be gay as a Macy's parade and the other is just straight support. Who knows? So many theories, why waste the time?
Hey! here's an idea: maybe she lost her lipstick and he finally fessed up to eating it. Seriously, does it affect his movies? No, but it may make his poop the color and consistency of Bobbi Brown's lasting lipcolor in Mocha Latte.
