Principles of FanFic...
Well, here is my theory (this is the same as FanFic-it's just guessing on my part) He's close to his offices, and it's only 12 miles home, but 12 miles on PCH is not 12 minutes. Its only 20 days until they start production, and things are probably turning into more than an 8 hour a day job.
I'm getting deja vu here because my best friend lived on Washington Blvd right off the 405, (scary town) and we went to Venice Beach and S.M. all the time. So everything seems vaguely familiar. There are some nice hotels out there, not far from the Pier.
And the NW is coming out of winter, so it's still raining, but headed toward improved conditions.
So if you are about to be plunged into the Twilight Zone, sunshine is good stuff.
