: A long shot but thought I'd try....

: I am searching for my sister born most probably in either Queens or Manhattan in 1944 and placed with NY Foundling, at that time located on the Upper East Side.

: I am not sure if she was adopted, but I am thinking not. First name might be "Christina/Christine" and her last name might be "Aselio" or something similar. Surname most likely of Italian derivation but could be Irish and begin with an "M". She may have even lived with BM for a period of time before being placed in foster care again.

: BM would have been 27 yo at time of this sister's birth and of full Italian heritage. Worked as a waitress/barmaid for most of her life.

: I am a younger sister born 1958 and also placed with NY Foundling. Adopted at age 5.

: If any of the above information regarding this sister seems familiar, please get in touch! I have been serching for some time now and would so much like to find her.

: Thanks so much!

You can get her birth record from the LDS Research Center. You must order the microfilm, and read it at their center. The cost is very low. But, you can spend the entire day there reading the film.
Order births for NYC for the year 1944 only, and search the entire reel.
Good luck
