------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ New Page 1Thursday, October 9, 2008 New Perspectives for Your Life Today, there are two perspectives I wish you to have: the one that is
very wide and high and the one that is entirely personal. What I wish
for you to avoid is the point of view of the newspapers and
television, which talk about statistics and averages and then focus on
a human interest story to make that statistical point of view seem
personal and relevant to you. In this moment right now, how is your life? Not your worries about
what might happen in the next moment and not the unexpected or
undesired thing that happened before. But right now, in this moment,
as you read these words. The answer is: right now, things are fine. Right now, this moment,
you are sitting and reading these words. Right now, you can take a
deep breath and then things seem even better. Right now, if you take
a deep breath and watch that breath spread throughout your chest, you
feel even better. And if you then gently focus on your center, moving
your attention to the deep pool of peace within you, you feel calm and
quiet. And when you lift your focus slightly to your heart, you can
open your heart and let the joy and love enter your body and spread
until you get a little smile on your face. Yes, this moment is just fine, for you, right now, in a deeply
personal way. And now, let us take a trip to the other perspective, that of the high
and wide. Feel yourself drifting up and up. Breathe deeply and let
your mind lift until you are just above yourself, looking down. And
then lift higher, out of the buildings, above all the trees. You are
light and floating, like one of the fluffy white clouds beside you,
completely freed from the shackles of gravity. Lift higher and higher as the buildings become like little squares and
the tress like little dots of green. Up and up you go, floating above
your life. You can see little people and cars traveling about, scurrying like so
many ants, doing this and doing that, going here and going there, all
in a hurry, in a great rush to go from one dot to another But not
you. You are now floating far above this, and now, as you move higher
and higher, the little dots are no longer visible. Now all you can
see is the earth below, with large patterns of clouds moving across
her surface, big areas of sea and land, an earth that has been here
for thousands and thousands of years, turning slowly. You can watch
her turn, slowly rotating below you, as you hang in the in sky,
supported gently as you float. And as you drift up, you can see the other planets as they turn. You
can see the rings of Saturn glowing in great beauty. You can see
stars twinkling in the night sky, as you float and drift, floating
comfortably. And now, you begin to feel a great sense of love and recognition as
shadowy forms begin to appear before you. They are versions of you,
your spirit in many forms, the many lives you have lived before and
the many lives you will live in the future. They are also the shapes
of this life, you as a baby, a child, and as you are now. As all of
these forms appear, you feel a great peace and oneness. And now, they gently flow toward you and dissolve into you, and you
feel yourself expand, expanding and expanding into the highest form of
yourself. You see and feel yourself glowing golden; you feel and know
that you are a golden glowing ball of energy, an energy so strong that
it subsumes and contains all of the forms of yourself, present, past
and future. You feel yourself within this glow, this glow of self
eternal and immortal, the everlasting, ever-there, I Am presence. And in this glowing form, a form that contains all of the lives you
have ever lived and all of the lives you have yet to live, existing in
this very moment and all of the other moments at the very same time,
timeless and eternal, you not only feel peace, but you also feel power. For in this truest and highest state, you are power, power complete
and absolute. And you feel and know that this presence, your I Am
presence, contains all of the love and power that there is. And you
know this because you now expand and expand, your light growing and
expanding until it contains the earth and all of the planets, then the
sun and the stars. It expands and expands until it is all there is,
and it contains all else that is, all other souls, future and past,
all events, all time, all within the expanded form that is you and is
also all else. There is no difference. You are all that is and all
that is, is you. And now, take a deep breath and be this, be this expansion, be this
power, be this presence. And feel that it is love and peace and joy.
And feel and know that it is power. And now, feel yourself coming gently down, gently back into your
glowing ball of light and then drifting down, down. See the earth
appear and then grow larger. See yourself moving slowly and gently
down toward your home on the earth, the place where you live and love,
grow and learn, the place where you are having this one little
adventure, this tiny little slice of time out of all that you truly are. And as you come back down, feel as if you are a liquid being poured
through a funnel down into the head of your body, this body, sitting
here, reading these words. You, your full I Am presence, is being
poured down into the body of this life at this moment, in its full
power. Within you right now is all of the light and love, all of the
wisdom and presence, all of the power, of your eternal I Am presence.
It all fills you right now. Take a deep breath and feel it within you. Take a deep breath and see
the golden glow as it spreads within your body. Make this eternal presence deeply personal. Let it reside within you.
And when you begin to worry about some little detail of your life,
this life, breathe in deeply and let your full higher presence fill
you. Touch that eternal presence and see things from that perspective
and make your choices from the place of love, power and joy that fills
you at this very moment. You are this, this higher self, this glowing being of love and
connection, this ultimate and unending power, this light of infinite
