choosing a design

I'm looking for a design that is quick and cheap to build. I will be singlehanding and living aboard. Cruise will be down the Ten-Tom waterway to the Gulf of Mexico then to Florida and then the Caribbean for a while. If all is going well then maybe consider crossing an ocean.

My question is which of the following would be quickest and cheapest to build and be most suitable?

MIRA - I'd think the open deck is simpler to build but this is a big cat for one person. Would that keep it from being cheaper and faster to build than a smaller design like gypsy? maybe too big for single handing?

SCORPIO - also open deck but smaller so possibly more appropriate. The website says the plans are being revised?

GYPSY - I've seen quotes of 1000 to 2500 hours to build. Would the designs above be any cheaper or quicker to build? This seems like the default if the others above are unfeasible but again it seems like an open deck design might be simpler to put together.

Any opinions or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.
