Just a note of info: bridges on the east coast USA ICW are all either of the opening types or fixed with minimum clearance at mean high water of 65 ft. (approx. 19.7 m) with one exception that is fixed at less than the standard. I do not recall the exception, but think it is near 55 ft. (16.7 m). There are many tributaries that have low fixed bridges where the lowered mast will be required.

: Hello,
: I'm considering a design for going down the east coast of the US and then across to the Caribbean. I'm looking for simplicity (in building as well as sailing) and basic accommodations for two. Wizard seems like a good fit on 'paper' plus the fact that its mast is in a tabernacle would come in handy for the bridges along the way.

: In your estimation would Wizard be a good one for this journey? I'd also considered Shadow (more simple but less accommodation), Gypsy (more accommodation and storage but much bigger and longer to build), and Skua.
