I have been wearing trail running shoes for quite a few years now. My shoe of chioce is the Nike Air Alvord. There are a few different generations(which vary only in color) and I believe they are on VI now. I swear by those things. They have a nice wide footprint and entire sole of the shoe is covered in soft rubber nubs, which makes them fantastic in pretty much any condition out on the grass.
They run anywhere from $40-$60 bucks, so they are relatively cheap compared to other options. You can find them at local stores or online. I just ordered a new pair of Air Alvord V's for this upcoming season. I got them for $50 shipped online. Do a quick Google search and you will find plenty of places that have them. The only decision you have to make is what style and color combo you like.
