New league structure – competitive league

All competitive players will be redrawn into new teams for the remaining 8 weeks of touch. The team sheets will be posted out as soon as the draw has taken place and also posted on the website.

Weeks 1 & 2 will be league matches, each team getting one (longer match) per night each which allow us to finish on time

Week 3 will be the semi finals of a Cup and Plate competition

Weeks 4 & 5 will be as per weeks 1 & 2

Week 6 will be the finals of the Cup and Plate competition

Weeks 7 & 8 will be as per weeks 4 & 5

We will be having an awards night

New league structure – mixed league

The majority of the Jesus Wept players will be playing in the competitive league. The remaining 3 teams will remain however we are going to form a new team and some existing teams will have to loose players to form the new team (The Invincible- no pressure with a name like that). As we get new players then players can transfer back to their old team if they want to.

The fixture schedule is as above, minimum players per team each evening is 5 and the male/female ratio must be no less than 4:2 unless team Captains agree otherwise. We do appreciate the holidays are coming up and players will be away and injuries happen and we have no intention of punishing teams.

No Pay – No Play

Teams are not permitted to allow players who have not registered or paid to play unless it is that players first week – no exceptions

Thames NTS – Reading Saturday 9th August

There will be a signing up sheet on the control table from next Wednesday for any players who want to play in a mixed team at this event. The entry fee is £10 per player (this does include water and some lunch) and we need to get 14 players to cover the costs. 6 women and 8 men required as the player ratio will be 3:3. I also need you payment in advance- if we cannot enter this event for any reason then you will get a refund. For some reason Thames are not running a men’s competition.

Tonbridge NTS – Unpaid Fees

I appreciate some of you may have forgotten to settle up your dues for Tonbridge but I can assure you my credit card company did not forget to take the money out of my account, please settle up next week

Touch on tour

We are going out one evening each week to local parks all across Medway to recruit new players. Phil will announce the venue for our first Touch on Tour evening and we would appreciate as much support as we can

Medway Open Festival Saturday 30th August

Not that long away now so start getting your teams together. We are looking for teams of 10 players, men’s and mixed. Entry fee is £5 per player

I have three sponsors at the moment, I would like two others giving just £100 each. I know some of you out there have deep pockets or work for companies with deep pockets so please come forward.

Sunday 6th July – Open Morning

And finally this Sunday is an open morning at the clubhouse; bring the family down for a few mixed games of touch. The kids can either play in mixed teams or we can set up their own games if we have enough numbers. The clubhouse will be open throughout. Games will take place on the middle pitch, not pitch 19 which we usually use.
