Hi
Well the end of the season is upon us...............almost.
Neil & I will continue to run informal touch rugby on Wednesday evenings in September, mostly to keep fit. Once the evenings draw in completely we will stop but we probably have 2 or 3 weeks still playable. Just turn up and play if you would like a game.
Winter indoor touch is in the process of being set up and we just need to agree terms with a school to host us, we will then have an idea about cost and structure. We will start with a couple of training sessions and then set up a league to run throughout the Winter. It will be on Tuesday evenings and indoor touch usually comprises of team sof 3 or 4 a-side on a basket ball sized court. We expect to start early October.
Please clear your diaries for Saturday 18th October, we have visiting teams from Cambridge, Warrick and Kent coming along for some social and competitive touch rugby games and then a bit of a jolly in the evening. We will also be having our end of season presentations to make a bit of an event out of the day which means that the event planned for this Saturday has been postponed - sorry. The referees level 1 badges have also finally arrived so these will also be presented on 18th October.
If anyone is free we will also be running 45 min touch rugby taster sessions/friendlies on each Sunday afternoon in September with a view to recruiting new players. The sessions will take place from 12:15pm until 1pm (the pitch we use will be allocated by the groundsman on the day). Just turn up and play
Finally a massive thanks goes out to everyone who helped out and competed on Saturday, despite the low number of teams it was still a great event and hopefully we can double the size next year. Congratulations to the Pfitzer teams who picked up the honours (and cash) in the Mixed Open and Mens Over 35's competitions whilst Medways Beer Hunters won the Mixed Over 35's competition and who donated their profits to the club.
