Sport Science - what does it mean to you?
Kent Sports Development Unit, in partnership with the University of Greenwich, University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University, is pleased to be able to offer an introductory workshop to Sport Science and the benefits to sports performers and coaches.
The workshop is suitable for coaches, performers and parents who are interested in finding out more about how sport science can be used to improve the performance of sports people at all levels.
The workshop will take place on Saturday 16th February at the Medway University Campus in Chatham Maritime (Pilkington Building)
from 9.30am - 12.30pm.
The morning will include:
An overview of areas within Sport Science (Biomechanics, Physiology, Psychology & Nutrition) and how these can be incorporated into training programmes
Case studies on sports performers who are benefiting from sport science support programmes
A tour of the sport science laboratories within the universities at Medway
An opportunity to discuss sport specific requirements with University staff involved in delivering sport science programmes
