DALY-Smithstown
Looking for data re: Thomas DALY, wife Margaret (nee FITAPATRICK) family of Barony of Lower Bunratty, Smithstown (townland)circa 1840s. Daugher Margaret age 15 arrived in Australia in 1850, possible famine orphan. However, my great grandmother, age 4 at time remained in County Clare, emigrating with husband in 1868 to USA. Question: if Margaret was an orphan who would have cared for a 4year old child in Famine County Clare at that time? Would there be records that far back for orphans? Where would data be if it exists?
