Instructions on how to post a photo. First, you need to load your photos onto a website. The 2 most common sites people use are PhotoBucket and Aussie Chicks.
Once you've registered and uploaded your photos, for Aussie Chicks click on the photo you want to post so it's the only photo that appears on the page. Right click ON the photo and click on 'properties'. When the box pops up, copy the entire URL address that is there. An easy way is, right click ON the address and click select all. Then right click again and click copy. Close that properties box and come back here and open a new message. You can now either put that address in the 'optional image URL' box (right click in the box and click on paste) or you can click on the 'EBCode legend' at the bottom of the page to show you the code to put more than one picture per message.
If you're using Photo Bucket, find the picture you want to post. Under the photos are 3 boxes with addresses in them. Copy the address in the bottom box (IMG) and come back here and open a new (or existing) message and copy that address into the main window where you type your message. This 'code' is the same one you'd find in the EBCode legend. To add more than one photo, repeat the above steps. Only put one address per line.
Remember, if you are buying or selling stock, add your location and email address to your message so people know where you are!

Yes, they can, literally. Yesterday, we were standing in the kitchen looking out watching the girls doing their stuff and an unleashed cattle dog cross appeared near the back fence. Sometimes the girls go through the fence, so hubby raced down there and only 2 out of the 3 that were out raced back in. I waited and waited and hubby didn't come back and I didn't know why because I saw the dog take off. 10 or so minutes later he reappeared, holding the Rock girl in a strange position. I thought she'd been got. Hubby came up to me and the hen was alive and well, but dripping wet. Turns out she escaped by going into the creek. Hubby saw her go in and thought she would sink, so jumped in after her and she started swimming, literally, just like the ducks. She wasn't stressed, she wasn't struggling, she was having a lovely time swimming around. If he'd not seen it with his own eyes, he never would've believed it. I had no choice but to believe it, we had a wet chook and he had wet legs. Given it was quite cold at this stage, there's no way he would've created the scenario just to humour me!
We brought her inside to try and dry her off and surprisingly, she wasn't that wet. Her underside was wet, of course, but she was only slightly damp under her wings and the rest of her was bone dry. She seemed happy, she got to spend the night inside. Today, you wouldn't think anything had happened to her!

Has anyone else experienced chooks that can swim and can swim well?

Jane
