Hello fellow Gypsy builders and sailors:
We launched our Gypsy back in 1999 in Vancouver, Canada and are currently sailing her down in the Sea of Cortez in Mexico on a two year cruise.
When we were buidling way back in 1998 we remember reading a reviewer in a magazine saying that the Gypsy was "boxy" in other words "ugly".
Well we have managed now to get our boat on the cover of Multihulls Magazine twice which we think is a first for any boat let alone the same "boxy" homebuilt. So congratulations again to Richard for such a great design. We think it has something to do with the yellow hulls as compared to the ubiquitous white hulls of so many boats. So don't go with white!

We have also done a few wild and wonderful modifications such as: 5 foot bowsprit for a screecher, stainless arch and hardtop, 4 foot extensions to the sterns (will Richard forgive us? - Hey we are now at 32 feet and we almost have a Romany!), and, last but not least, cutting out and then lifting and gluing in the whole cuddy cabin 6 inches higher from the original design location (Richard won't forgive us!):

Look forward to hearing from you Gypsy builders/sailors out there!
Sincerely,
