I am concerned about some of the movements within an up coming dance at my church. In this dance there are some high leg kicks, including the one where the dancer lifts her foot up so that the leg is extended alongside her head. It's for Black History and they will be wearing black leotards ans African wraps. I have only attended one rehearsal two days ago and was real surprise to see this. I have two daughters who dance in our dance ministry. We have a new dance teacher and she is awesome. I know she loves the Lord, but she is young. She is a dancer and choreographer by profession. The dance that she has taught is awesome! I just don't think kicking up ones legs is appropriate in ministry. I'm not saying all kicks are inapropriate, I just think frontal high kicks are too much. I want to know if there is any written literature on praise dance moves as far as what is appropriate and inappropriate and possible something that interprets each move. Please respond to this quick. This is really bothering my spirit. I want to talk to the dance teacher but I want to first know what I'm talking about and offer assistance with literature and also I want to do it in love. I don't want to discourage her.
