: : I am over our youth dance team and our church just hired youth pastors. Until now, the youth dance team has fallen under the adult dance team which fell within the worship department. The new youth pastors feel that it should now be placed in the youth department.

: We currently have 5 active dance ministries in our church and all of the ministries regardless of age or gender fall under the Liturgical Praise Dance Ministry Department. I strongly believe that the ministry of dance is and should be maintained under one umbrella. I believe that doing it any other way sets up division in the ministry. For example, we have a Men's Department as many other churches, but my male praise dance ministry falls under the Dance Ministry Department. We also have a Women's and Youth Department, but all dance ministries report under one umbrella. There is such a vast amount of information and attention to detail that goes along with overseeing a dance ministry ie; teaching concepts,understanding it purpose, overcoming the barriers, ensuring Christian choreography, just to namer a few. Placing a dance ministry under another department may cause the ministry to lose sight of these very important aspects. Just food for thought.
