No,I don't think you are too old.I'm 47 my PD are teenagers with the exception of one adult. I have a great relationship with them.I choreograph all of the dances,(although I'll be happy when they help)they have never complained.Perhaps because I can dance circles around them LOL. We do have the issues of them wanting to hip hop. I told them 4 months ago to choregraph a hip hop dance, they have not done so. I choregraphed one and they can't do it. We get a long fine. I do have two that think they are cute and hve attitudes I just remind them I'm the Queen and they are Ladies in waiting, they think that's funny. I teach them how to be ladies. We have makeup sessions for those who can wear makeup. We talk about clothes, that they can still be in fashion w/o showing everything God, gave them. We talk about boys. Think about it this way you have their attention for a peroid of time and you can inpart some knowledge in them. My girld call me to help them pick out their winter ball dresses, prom dresses etc.For those that can have a boyfriend they have brought them to practice so I can meet them. Altough I don't understand how or why they want to just date one youngman. I personally think they are too young. You will be surprised how great of a job you can do. working with teens can be a lot of work but it is worth it. I thought I was just going to dance once per month. Now I find myself in charge of a praise dance ministry and a un-official youth ministry.I did not want to mentor young ladies or become their friends I just wanted to praise God, in dance but now I have 5 beautiful young ladies and one handsome young man that come to me for guidence, support, kidness, understanding and love. It was a rough start but worth it. They bless me everyday.
To His Glory,
Angela
