This is a wonderful opportunity and I would recommend the first thing that you do is pray and ask for the Lord's guidance. There is a great deal that goes along with establishing a dance ministry. Try to get your hands on as many resource books that you can. Here are some suggestions that cover starting a ministry.

After you have researched, know that ministering behind a live choir is much more challenging than ministering to a recording. We had a session during our conference that spoke to ministering with your music department. We stressed flexibility, open choreography and using worship tools. May God bless you and lead you.

: I am apart of a gospel choir at the university I attend and recently we had our spring concert and I was asked to dance and I did. Several weeks after the spring concert, several choir members including the director have come up to me and asked me if I would start a dance team that would branch off from the choir. They also asked me if I would dance at some of places when we go to sing. I mean, I don't mind starting a dance group but they just want me to dance. I love praise dancing because that's my calling from God, but that would take time away from my school work. I don't want to tell them no because I really don't like turning down something like this. I don't mind starting a group because I really love to dance but I just don't know what to do.
