Happy Resurrection Weekend everyone! This question is posed to Karmel (as I know this is her favorite subject) and any other dancers on the board who can provide tips on encouraging dancers to be more expressive. Other than the Pepto Bismol jingle exercise, does anyone use any exercises (including songs, DVDs, etc.) to practice facial expressions for dance? We are practicing for our Easter ministry tomorrow and while the group has the mechanics of the dance down enough to minister tomorrow, expression is missing. I want to spend time practicing just expression but they want to keep going over the song (for the moves, not expression). I would like to devote a part of each rehearsal to expression exercises but don't have any creative ideas to work on it. Also, how do we get our members to leave their personal concerns (family issues, finances, fatigue, etc) at the door for the sake of ministry? All help is welcomed! Thanks!
