Susan
I just want to add on and I want to start you off with some scriptures which will help you in the process
Matthew 7:1-5
"Do not judge, or you will be judged. For in the same way you judge others you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother 'Let me take the speck out of your eye, when all time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye"
2 Corinthians 2:5-8
"If anyone has caused grief, he has not so much grieved me as he has grieved all of you, to some extent-not to put it too severly. The punishment inflicated on him by majority is sufficent for him. Now instead, you ought to forgive him and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. I urge you, therefore to affirm your love for him."
James 1:19 says "we should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to wrath. " I can continued to the next verse which says "For the wrath of man is not of the righteousness of God."
Matthew 18:21-35 is the parable of the unmerciful servant
2 Corinthian 2:5-9
"If anyone has caused grief, he has not as much as grieved me as he has grieved all of you, to some extent-not to put it too severely. The punishment inflicated on him by the majority is sufficent for him. Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. I urge you, therefore, to affirm your love for him. The reason I wrote to you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything."
Ephesian 4:29-32
"Do not let unwholesome talk come out of your mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
Colossain 4:1
"Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven."
1 Thessalonian 5: 14-15
"And we urge you brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else."
They won't let me put the book it is in but here is the chapter and verse. 3:1-3,9-11
Remind the people to be subject to the rulers and authorities to be obedient to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceful and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men. At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another"
"But avoid foolish controversies amd genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. Warn a divisive person once and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him. You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned."
This is the last one I am going to give you it is coming from 1 Peter 5:1-3
"To elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a witness of Christ's sufferings and one who also will share in the glory to be revealed. Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers-not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants to be not greedy for money, but eager to serve not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock."
The word is the word and that is what is written. I say be careful about your decision. Talk to God and ask Him about these scripture He will reveal them to you. I say if you heard the word from the Lord and you have the scriptures to back you up you don't need to talk to other people nor do you need people to protect you because you have God on your side and you have been listening to what God has told you. Also God is not the author of confusion nor is He the author of division. So if there is confusion and division in your camp and your team wants to quit it means that satan is in the midst.
NO SIN IS GREATER THAN THE OTHER. So it doesn't matter if you murder a man, has unforgiveness in your heart, holding a grudge on somebody, using God's name in vain, disobeying authority, slandering, hatred, malice, cheated on your spouse, quoting verses but not being doers of the word, gossiping, cheating on your spouse, lusting in your mind body or wherever, fussing causing the sun to go down and you're still angry not apologizing whether you were right or wrong, cussing, condemning, angry, greed, pride, those in the closet sins that only God knows about, etc. They are still sin whether the church knows or not. If God has forgiven you and show you love and compassion and is teaching you that is the same way you should do it. I would say so much more, but I think I have said enough already! Lol.
So remember to stay in prayer with God and if you do ask for advice from someone else don't say anything that will hurt or harm your follower because remember they trusted you with that information and the last thing you want to do is lose their trust. Stay in Chrsit and God bless you!
