After a grueling few days, I'm finally emotionally detached and primarily fascinated with what may be occurring on a soul level.
My grandmother is 85 and should not have lived past an episode Wednesday evening, by everyone's account. She is in end-stage congestive heart failure and dementia and a few other diagnoses. Wednesday evening she was in severe respiratory distress, frothing at the mouth from the fluid in her lungs, completely nonresponsive. That's when I posted my request for prayers. I knew she would be gone by the next morning and prayed it would be more peaceful for her.
She has stabilized and is officially alive, though essentially nonresponsive still. They thought she lapsed into a coma a few times. I feel so for my mom and my aunt who are there, and haven't left the nursing home since Wednesday. As of Saturday she has been more peaceful, without outward signs of distress that have been there since Wednesdays, so we're tremendously grateful for that. Hopefully she will transition peacefully in her sleep soon.
Thanks for all the prayers.
