Thanks again for your help(sorry about re-posting your reply to me).
I guess more research will have to be done into the history of this man.The information listing him as `HMS Odyssey` came from the grave details of the CWGC site.
So I'm guessing that the man in question was already on the books of some ship or establishment,and was part of an NP despatched to Holland.As he had a Portsmouth Command Service number,he may well have been at Eastney Barracks before going overseas.
