My late father was a marine in WW2 & his records state that his Division or Ship between 15/12/44-31/5/45 was Odyssey NP2401. On reading previous postings, it seems that Odyssey was not a 'real' ship, however, NP2401 must have been an actual Navel Party. Where did it go? Was the far east involved? My father mentioned India, Ceylon, &, he found it
very difficult to speak about Singapore although Changhi(?)jail and seeing some terrible things was talked about breifly - the subject brought tears to his eyes almost 50 years later. I would love to know more about what my dad was involved with in the war. This October will make the 100th anniversary of his birth & it is high time I found out more. Can you help me please?
