Hi, please could I ask for some help with my fathers service record. Unfortunatly he passed away this year and I sent off for his service record.
In the column "ship in which serving" there are many entries, I have researched them briefly and all the entries are land bases, except one entry for "Sainfoin" which I beleive was a troop carrier.
Does this mean my father spent all his time on shore bases? For instance, there are 4 consecutive entries for Baldur, which I have found to be a shore base in Iceland, but why would there be 4 entries, one after the other, for the same name, with different dates? Any help would be greatly received.
Also, there are various numbers before the name in this column, for instance the first entry is Badger, and to the left there is a large 5 with a small 2, with a diagonal line under with 224 under. There is a second entry under this with ditto marks under badger, again with numbers to the left that read 5 with a small 2, then LDD over a line with 53 underneath.
Help!!
