Are there names in brackets after the shore base name? Shore bases, such as BALDUR were often accounting bases, meaning it kept the pay, accounts, and handled the correspondence for a number of smaller vessels. It was effectively the 'parent' for them. On service records the main, accounting base, would be shown, then in brackets the actual vessel.
The other reason the same ship/base would be listed would be on being promoted, i.e. from Able to Leading Rate may well generate two entries, the later entry confirming that he stayed where he was.
The numbers etc, I suspect are merely references to ledger/pay numbers etc.
