Chronic Pain Survival Kit
Being prepared is one thing most people who live with chronic pain know how to do most of the time. If we fail to have our kits together than we are sure to suffer our pain more than we want to.
There are two parts to the kit, the firts is the written or information side. And the second is the physical needs that have to be met when in pain.
Important Info Kit
1.A pain notebook or journal to keep your info straight. Unlike people who do not suffer with chronic pain, our minds get very forgetful when the pain strikes. The notebook will hold the medications taken, doctors names and other things that need to be known at a glance. It will also note breake through pain times and what you were doing when it strikes. All very important information that you and your doctor can use to help in your pain management.
2.A calendar- to keep track of appointments and other important dates in your life. Chronic pain can often cause your days to run together, or you may forget an important date.
3.A good support system - someone who knows you, your pain and how you treat it as well as your doctor's info. Having this someone is very important in case you of an emergency or you have a bad pain day and need someone to talk to about your feelings. Don't forget you Pain Scale Chart when putting your notebook or journal together.
