Jess, you may find that many, if not all of us here, regard ourselves as "professional patients". Given the number of admissions we have had and in different hospiutals, we have a good experience and expectation of what treatments are and can be.
Your issue with stools is something that we have all been through to a greater or lesser extent. I am so well trained that whenever I produce stools, or vomit, for example, I always carefully examine it and make sure I know what is, and isn't in there.
One of the first questions they often ask when you present, was there any blood? Was it Red? Was it Black? Since I have been asked those questions many times, I make a point to KNOW exactly what came out of either end.
Patients here will not be replused by you or your problems and certainly not with your enquiries,
The "USE" of knowledge is "POWER"!
We come here to care and share, and many times I have picked up valuable questions to ask my teams just through someone else asking a question and several people answering. Remember, we are not doctors and even if we were, we are NOT familiar with your notes and your exact problems, so we cannot diagnose you, what we can do, hopefully, is to give you ideas about questions you should ask everyone from your PCP and up to surgeons, GIs, radiologists etc.
I have seen both male and female anatomy discussed in deep detail when it was needed. We have had babies on here also. Feel free to ask any question and don't take what you get back as a 100% answer but the basis for your next best question to your medical team.
