I went there and was officially diagnosed with Chronic Pancreatitis but have now switched and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the University of Minnesota. They are the first group of specialists and home of the first surgeon who developed the Total Pancreatectomy with auto islet transplant surgery. I see Dr. Martin Freeman, and he is absolutely the best doctor I have seen so far. He ordered an MRCP and and EUS with pancreatic function testing and am now waiting to see him and be referred to the surgeon he works closely with. This group of doctors and surgeons are the ones who are most sought after, if anyone has researched the surgery, you know Dr. Sutherland is the one who developed it years ago. I feel better with this group because they have so much experience and really know what they are doing. Dr. Freeman is a gastroenterologist who specializes in the pancreas, so I feel like I can't get a better doc anywhere! I am very pleased with the U of M, would recommend it over the Mayo! Sorry for the book, I'll get off my soapbox now
