This is Carolyn bloom ..we may have spoken a few years back..I had a TP/AIT with Dr Sutherland last September 2008 and all seemed ok until August when I got a 103 fever and cholangitis . When the fever went down I went to UCSF in SF on 9/25 and had an ERCP which showed a narrowing in my bile duct so they inserted 2 stents and last week removed them but the narrowing was still there so they ballooned the blockage and want to do another ERCP in 4 weeks. When did you have your pancreas out and when did the other symptoms begin.?.did you have elevated liver numbers or any blockage before the roux? I am 62 and after 40 years of living with pain the thought of having another surgery peterifies me though Dr Sutherland did suggest I think about the roux en y. Did he do both the surgeries on you? Do you think it helped at all? Would you recomend doing it? Right now I'm going the ERCP route but don't know how long I can keep doing that as th nerves will ultimately become inflamed. I know I'm rambling but I am very depressed and trying to get help and information. Would you be open to my calling you? Let me know if this is ok or too uncomfortable for you.
