John I've ben in pain everyday for I thought it was 15 years but urns out itsonly 12 th first two there were gaps. It took 11 years before I finally got a PTC scan that they had been promising me but always had an excuse why they couldn't do it, I was operated on a few weeks later but still left the hopsital in pain as the third stricture Ihad of the hepatic ducts obviously wasn't showing up on tests at that early stage. I even moved countries to try to get answers and although I have had some and a further surgery the docs have mucked it up and not done the right testsuntil after the op so now I need further surgery but the surgeon isn't keen to operate as it will be my 7th since birth hich is a lot on of opening of the tummy. I rarely get to talk to my surgeon over here (Uk) so I'm assumin that is one of the reasons and also I've jst had surgery and quiet frankly emotionally i'm not up to it though it will have to be done sometime.
So follow the advice of Judylu and ask for those tests to be done.I'm very impressed with the HIDa scan for diagnosing biliary problems but all the tests have their place. Keep in touch with us so we can help boost your morale and maybe give advice.
