After a 5 and a half year battle, I finally got approved for social security disability!! I had already been denied 4 times. Finally on Thursday I had to go to trial before a judge and she approved it on the spot and apologized for the long hard struggle to get approved!
What a huge weight lifted off of my chest. For anyone else fighting this battle, keep going forward, it is possible! One thing I may have done differently if I had it to do over is to get a lawyer. I finally won even without one, but it could have been a shorter fight if I had sought a lawyer's help.
Woo-hoo!
The one medical expert that was at the trial was allowed to ask me questions and of course the one thing he zero'd in on was the narcotic issue. Saying that he thinks I am "addicted". Oh that makes me so mad. All my medical problems and over 8,000 pages of medical records and that is what he wants to talk about!
Yes I take narcotics and yes there is probably an underlying addiction going on there, but anyone would be after taking pain meds for 5.5 years! It's not like I chose to have this horrible disease!
Ok, I am done ranting, sorry for turning this into a vent session!
I am so thankful to have at least that fight be over!
*hugs* to all
