3 or 4 years ago, a tiel flew out of a house about three blocks away from me. She was in a tree in my neighbor's yard for awhile, and then she got spooked off. They found her a couple days later in a tree about half a block from me.
Keep in mind that this was in North Dakota in November. That week it was about 20-25 degrees during the day.
