hi les. i dont know about this organization, but i do know about phoenix landing and they also do home visits and investigations to make sure that the birds are going to a good home, where they are able to take care of the birds etc, and are not hoarders or people that just want to sell the birds. so while it may be intrusive, i suspect its for the good of the bird. as i said, i have no idea about this rescue. there is a good rescue in mass -- or one that i heard had a great reputation --- foster parronts or something like that. Rescues usually do not "sell" the bird per se, but ask for an adoption fee to cover any of the medical or other costs and usually it does not go above a few hundred dollars. perhaps they are using petfinder to get more publicity. so, in my view, i support the fact that rescues are picky about who they adopt out to. i am picky about who i date...so why shouldnt a rescue also be picky!!! (i havent done a home inspection lately.. :-) )
