Why Walk? After losing my business along with my life savings in August of 2008, my grown children urged me to move closer to them, back to the west where I spent most of my youth. My daughter and her husband want to make a place for me near their home in Paradise, CA. My son backs this plan, too, and dreams of buying a house there.

20 Jun 2009: Catskill Animal Sanctuary Today Joyce Anderson took me to visit the Catskill Animal Sanctuary, where I met the Director, Kathy Stevens, and her dedicated staff. At CAS, abused and neglected livestock are rescued, nursed back to health, showered with love, and some find forever homes. Today I met blind horses, horses that had survived incredible neglect, and horses that were rescued from abuse. I also met goats, ... ' Your Stories Matter to Me In these tough times, many Americans have stories of financial loss more dramatic than my own. Sometimes the financial loss is connected with an illness, or the financial stress itself produces loss of health. Most of us find a way to rally on. Sometimes an experience or person alters our perception about what really counts in life. These are the stories I hope to collect from those I meet along the way.
