If any here feel so inclined! Namaste with Love & Gratitude, V~M ~~*~~ SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2009 PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING THESE CHILDREN YOUR PRAYERS, FREE DONATED TOOTHBRUSHES FROM YOUR DENTIST OR A COLORING BOOK IF ALL OF US DO ONE LITTLE THING ~ THE IMPACT WILL BE HUGE Namaste! We leave for Egypt in a couple of weeks and will be visiting Saint Teresa Orphanage in the Mokattam Hills District. This orphan home is located in a place called the garbage collector’s village, meaning the Cairo city dump. The children in this orphan home have been found in the garbage dump. They have been thrown away by unwed mothers or individuals that are unable to care for them. They need our prayers. There are approximately 40 babies at this orphan home, ranging from three months to three years. Our mission is to bring lasting joy to the lives of these children. Their existence, until they are adults, will be lived in the stench of the garbage collector’s village. Please consider being a part of this meaningful project. These children are not garbage, each is a child of God. Your gifts will leave lasting imprints that these children carry forth into their lives. I recognize that there are only 11 days left for the ministry to receive your gifts by mail, but it can be done. Please do consider supporting this mission by sending goodies for us to take to the children or a donation for us to purchase them in your name. As these children grow, your caring energy will reflect a message to them that they are no worthless and that people do care about them. When we return I will send you a mission report and photos of Saint Teresa’s little angel babies. If you would like to be a part of this project, please mail small items to the address below. We have 4 suitcases dedicated for the orphan home gifts. Delta Airline is letting us have 70lb. per bag. Orphan Home Donation Suggestions: Rattles Pacifiers Small snuggly things Baby Clothes Coloring books. (I have 120 boxes of 24 crayons, but no books) If you are unable to send items, but would like to send a donation you can do so at www.SerenityMinistry.com. Know that these donations will only be used to purchase toys, dolls and blankets and the more bulky gift items we can get at stores in Cairo. In addition to donated gifts, if 100 people donate $5.00 we will have $500 to buy Tonka-like trucks and stuffed animals for the boys and a doll for every little girl. I want to thank you in advance. Your generosity and prayers for these little children will make a difference. It only takes a second to send love. Together we can put smiles on the faces of Saint Teresa’s precious little angels. Please send your donated items to: Serenity Ministries 1443 N. Trail Creek Way Eagle, Idaho 83616 U.S.A. Most dentists will donate as many as 100 toothbrushes if you call to ask. We will hand out your toothbrushes to children through Egypt. There are millions of children in Cairo and many of them have never had a crayon. That is why I bought so many. One box of 24 puts a crayon in the hands of twenty four kids. In Luxor we plan to drop light gift packages to children from hot air balloons. These float down to the waiting arms of the local children. We do it every year and the kids love it. Please consider getting involved in this project by sending a few of these items, which can be purchased at your local dollar store. We stuff the gifts in cellophane goodie bags. You can also send bags that are already stuffed. If it is easier for you to donate the amount you would spend on these items, we will use your money to purchase them in your name when we arrive in Cairo. Gift Bag Suggestions: Toothbrushes (donated from your dentist) Combs & Barrettes Matchbox cars and little toys Colored pencils & erasers Please also visit www.SerenityTravels.com to listen to the guided mission recordings and read more about the work we are doing in Egypt. You can participate in and support the World Team Missions. Namaste and thank you, Jill Marie www.serenityministry.com/coptic_orphanage_donate.html Please pass this e-mail on to others that may be interested in helping these children. In 2005, this little girl was left in the gutter just moments after her birth. We took her to a local orphan home in Cairo, where she was named Malik, which is Arabic for Angel. This is Malik a year later (photo taken in 2006). She is alive and well and we hope will soon be adopted by a loving family. Have questions or need assistance?
