A Senate inquiry has called for Australian troops and Federal Police to improve their cooperation in overseas peacekeeping missions.
The Senate's Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade has examined recent peacekeeping missions involving Australians.
It found troops and police have not always been able to work together smoothly in the field.
Committee chairman Senator Mark Bishop says the Committee is also worried about a lack of information on how defence personnel cope with their time overseas.
"The report also identifies a number of concerns relating to the accessibility of data on the health of Australian peacekeepers, inadequacies in the ADF's [Australian Defence Force] health record management and post deployment care of peacekeepers with mental health problems," he said.
