I was so sorry to hear about Tom's passing. He was a remarkable man. I spent several years in the forming dept. at Anchor Glass and there was no one who knew more than Tom Barker. I frequently watched as machine repairmen would spend hours struggling to get a section back into operation and finally, Tom would calmly walk out onto the floor, stare at the machine for a few moments and then have a few words with the repairmen and then walk back to the office. The repairs would be made and production would continue. Tom and I butted heads on occasion and he was a formidable opponent.=) He was cantankerous, and sharp-tongued and I wouldn't have wanted him to be any other way. He was a leader, and we all looked to him for guidance. Tom was tough, disciplined, and as hard as nails. I'll always remember the years I spent working under his supervision. My thoughts are with Danny, Greg, and all the family. I had some great times working with you guys.
