George Lee Powell a resident of Henryetta passed away on June 15, 2009 in Tulsa, Ok at the age of 77. Born on November 6, 1931 in Jenny Lind, Arkansas to John Wesley and Martha Elizebeth (Mizell) Powell.
George was a 13 year employee of PPG and a retired mechanic from Okmulgee County District #3 after 18 years of service. He married Oneta (Dolly) Casey on June 20, 1959 in Spiro, Ok. George and his wife Dolly have taken care of the New Senora Cemetery for many years.
Survived by his wife Dolly Powell of the home. Three sons and a daughter, Howard Hobbs and wife Roxann of Checotah, Debra Jean Powell of Grove, Ok and her sons Jason Hendrickson and wife Michelle of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and Justin Hendrickson and wife Samantha of Owasso, OK; George Wayne Powell and wife Dona and their daughters April and Alece of Dewar,Ok; Carl Lee Powell and wife Darnell, their daughter Brooke and Son Brett of Owasso,OK. Mr. Powell also has five Great Grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, Aubrey, Avery and Chase.

Visitation for Friday June 19, will be form 8:00 am to 5:00pm
Saturday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and Sunday 12:00 to 8:00pm
Services will be 2:00pm, Monday, June 22, 2009 at the First Assembly of God with Rev. William Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at the New Senora Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
